Heritage Church Conversion

Gel is excited that our St James Church restoration and apartment conversion project has begun on site after two years of planning and consenting. This project is a lifeline for this Category B Historic building that had been left to decline for decades.
Originally completed in 1900 and designed by Architects John Mitchell and Robert Watt in Neo-classical style, this Church is located on the prominent corner of View Road and Esplanade Road in Mt Eden.
The striking façade and decorative interior details are being carefully retained and preserved with four modern apartments thoughtfully inserted into the historic fabric.
